Disclaimer
NAMAH Connect is not a medical device, not a diagnostic tool, and not an emergency service. It does not provide medical advice, treatment or therapy, and nothing in it establishes a clinician–patient relationship.
Screeners
PHQ-9 and GAD-7 are validated screening questionnaires. A score describes self-reported symptom frequency over two weeks. It is not a diagnosis of depression or of an anxiety disorder — only a qualified clinician can diagnose, after an assessment. A low score does not mean you are fine, and a high score does not mean you are ill.
Bhaav Scan
The Bhaav Scan reads facial expression and facial geometry from your camera and turns them into four coarse indices. You should know its limits, because they are real:
- The underlying expression model is trained largely on posed emotional expressions. Spontaneous everyday faces look different.
- Facial expression is a weak and culturally variable indicator of inner state. People mask, people are undemonstrative, people are simply concentrating.
- Lighting, camera quality, glasses, facial hair, head pose and skin tone all affect landmark and expression accuracy. Published face models have measurable demographic performance gaps.
- The thresholds we use are calibrated on plausible geometric ranges, not on a clinical sample. No validation study supports them.
Use it the way you would use a mirror: as something to notice, then interpret for yourself. It must never be used to grade, rank, screen, hire, admit, discipline or evaluate anybody, and mentors are shown the same caveats you are.
Mentors
A mentor on this platform is a designated person within your organisation, not necessarily a clinician. Their role is to notice and to reach out. They cannot see your journal, and the flags they receive are signals, not conclusions.
