The short version
Your journal, thought records and camera frames never reach our servers. What we do store is the minimum a mentor needs to notice someone struggling: mood scores, screener totals, four Bhaav Scan numbers, and safety flags — and only for people who have joined an organisation.
What is stored on your device only
- Journal entries, thought records and gratitude notes.
- Breathing and grounding usage.
- Every camera frame, every face crop, and every facial landmark computed during a Bhaav Scan. These exist in memory for a few milliseconds and are then discarded. They are never uploaded, never written to disk, and never turned into a face template — the face-recognition model that could produce one is deliberately never loaded.
You can export or erase device data from the Account tab. Clearing your browser storage erases it too — we cannot recover it for you.
What is stored on our servers
| Data | Why | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| Google account id, email, display name | To sign you in and to attach your records to you | Until you ask us to delete the account |
| Daily mood, energy, sleep (1–5) and fixed tags | Your own trend; a mentor's roster view | Until deletion request |
| PHQ-9 / GAD-7 total, band and a flag for item 9 | Your history; escalation | Until deletion request |
| Bhaav Scan: four indices, a composite and a confidence | Your history; a mentor's trend | Until deletion request |
| Safety flags | So a mentor can reach out | Until deletion request |
| Mentor outreach messages | Both of you can see what was said | Until deletion request |
| Audit log of approvals and record views | Accountability — you can ask who opened your record | 24 months |
We store the event of a crisis-phrase detection, never the sentence that triggered it. The detection itself runs in your browser.
Who can see what
- A personal account is visible to nobody but you. No mentor, no admin.
- A mentor sees members of their own organisation only. This is enforced on the server against the mentor's own record — not by anything the browser sends. They see trends, screener bands, Bhaav composites and flags. They never see journals, thought records, chats, or crisis text.
- An admin sees approval queues, organisation-level counts and the audit log. No admin endpoint returns an individual's wellbeing data.
- Turning sharing off hides your trends from your mentor. Urgent safety flags still reach them; we say so here, on the toggle, and at the moment you join, because a silent exception would be worse than an honest one.
Bhaav Scan, specifically
The scan runs a face-detection model, a 68-point landmark model and an expression model, all downloaded to your browser and executed there. The output is four integers between 0 and 100 plus a confidence. That is the entire payload. It is a heuristic built on models trained on posed emotion data; it has no clinical validation and it is not a diagnosis, a screening instrument or a fitness-for-duty test. It cannot identify you.
Third parties
Google Firebase Authentication handles sign-in (Google's privacy policy applies to that step). Hosting and the database are Cloudflare Pages and Cloudflare D1. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. We run no analytics, no advertising, no trackers and no third-party scripts beyond the Firebase authentication SDK.
Your rights
Ask us at hello@naiq.in for a copy of your server-side records or for their deletion, and we will act within 30 days. Deletion removes your check-ins, screener results, scans, flags and outreach. You can leave an organisation at any time by asking an admin to detach your account.
Children
NAMAH Connect is for people aged 16 and over. If an institution enrols minors, that institution is responsible for obtaining guardian consent under applicable law.
Not an emergency service
